The Octet Winter Concert

The Octet return to St. Michael’s Without for a concert of irresistible choral music.
Joined by the sought after Adam’s Apple Jazz trio, the choir bring together a feast of Romantic and Contemporary music. To include Chilcott’s: A Little Jazz Mass, Mendelssohn’s: Hear my Prayer (Motet) and Arnesen’s: Dormi Jesu.
This concert promises to begin the Christmas season in style. The Octet will be joined by a variety of guest soloists and instrumentalists, performing a delightful and virtuosic programme of music.

St Swithin's Christmas Concert

The Chorus and Orchestra will be performing a Christmas themed medley conducted by Francis Faux – including many well known carols and popular Christmas music.

Gala Concert

Rutter's Requiem, The Octet

At the Michael Tippet Centre in the beautiful grounds of Newton Park, The Octet Summer Concert promises to begin your summer in style with a selection of choral music and features piano duets from Bath Spa University music students. On this warm summer’s evening The Octet will be performing Rutter’s Requiem under the baton of Daniel Robert Cushing accompanied by its own chamber ensemble. As one of Rutter’s finest works, the Requiem adapts and presents parts of the Latin Mass alongside contrasting movements that reflect the composer’s experience of the Anglican Tradition.

End of Year Recital

Party In The City

Party in the City traditionally takes place on the opening Friday of the Bath International Music Festival. In 2017, Party in the City will open Bath’s new flagship festival – The Bath Festival – on Friday 19th May. The night includes over 2,000 performers across 30+ venues and 3 outdoor arenas. It is Bath’s largest arts event and free for everyone to attend. I shall be performing with various ensembles including Bath Spa Ladies Choir, Bath Spa University Choir and Bat Spa Chamber Winds.

Todd - Jazz Missa Brevis

After their successful debut in 2016, Lucis are thrilled to return to the Wiltshire Music Centre for an evening of contemporary choral music from across the globe. Joined by jazz trio Adam's Apple and the Arcosanti String Quartet, the programme will feature Latvian composer Eriks Esenvalds' mellifluous setting of the O Salutaris Hostia, Gjeilo's Dark Night of the Soul and Eric Whitacre's Five Hebrew Love Songs. The concert will conclude with Will Todd’s Jazz Missa Brevis which was commissioned by Portsmouth Cathedral in 2015.

Rossini's Petite Messe Solennelle

On the back of a US tour, Bath Spa University Choir make their Wiltshire Music Centre debut with a performance of Rossini's Petite Messe Solennelle. The concert will feature the original version of the work scored for two pianos and harmonium. Famously coined by the composer as 'the last of my sins of old age', the work is Rossini at his very best, replete with catchy melodies, harmonic ingenuity, and a great deal of wit and beauty.

A Concert of Baroque
